Living A Life of Luxury (Somewhat)

Sometimes, it can get pricey if you want to have a fun and comfortable experience. When you have to worry about rent, bills, and general expenses, it’s not always feasible to splurge on a trip. Whether you plan to relax in Rome or ride a Ferrari around Milan, traveling is one of the most rewarding things you can buy with your money.

If you don’t already know, I love to save as much money as I can whenever I travel. Luxurious experiences are nice, but I don’t have an inheritance from rich grandparents. If I can’t afford to travel in luxury then the next best thing is to save and to find deals. Here are some ideas for you to live lavishly.

  • Frequent flyer miles has changed the game when it comes to flying first class for the same price as flying economy (or for free if you have enough points.) I would usually fly with British Airways, which has a great lounge and wonderful rewards program.

  • Add “Honey” to your browser. Honey automatically scans the Internet for coupon codes while you’re shopping online. When you checkout an item, it magically applies the best deal to your cart! You can use it for travel sites like Expedia, Orbitz, Marriott, and Travelocity.

  • If there aren’t rooms available that day, some hotels will give you an upgrade on your purchase. I was saving money in Santorini, Greece when I found out that the resort I was staying in was practically empty. You just have to be brave enough to ask.

So before you book your next trip, do yourself a favor and use this tips to get the most out of every dollar. Have a safe trip!
